It’s around 200 metres to the seafront promenade, yet the house is set back far enough that the days pass more slowly here. The house embodies the authentic spirit of the Canary Islands, with hand-painted decorative tiles, warm terracotta floors and whitewashed walls that keep the midday heat at bay. Two bedrooms, tastefully designed, both open onto the same large terrace with views of the greenery. The open-plan living area flows into a fully equipped kitchen and a dining area, and if you’re travelling as a group of six, you’ll find a comfortable sofa bed in the living room for two further guests. Yet the heart of this house lies outside, and it’s spacious. A spacious outdoor area spreads across the different levels: a shaded seating area for afternoon coffee, an open-air dining area for long evenings, and a barbecue for convivial and unforgettable moments. Right at the top, on the panoramic terrace, lies the real highlight of the house: sun loungers and a sweeping view over the palm fronds to the open Atlantic, which belongs solely to you up here. If you have a car, you can park it right outside the house free of charge. And everything else is within walking distance anyway: Palm Mar is a quiet, deliberately hotel-free coastal village where cafés, supermarkets, a chemist, a doctor’s surgery and a bank are just a few steps away. The restaurants along the palm-lined streets serve cuisine from all over the world, from international to Canarian, and you can stroll to the seafront promenade with its beach club in a matter of minutes.
